Today’s youth, especially students, are thoroughly stressed out and pressurized with reference to their careers, interpersonal relationships and lifestyle as a whole. This has further made their approach more pessimistic. Considering these circumstances, Gandhinagar Police has taken a remarkable initiative by launching a Telephonic Counseling Helpline- Jeevan Aastha under the Suraksha Setu Project. This helpline aims at Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Care. Helpline number 1800 233 3330 is toll free and available round the clock. To spread awareness regarding the same an interactive session was held on 6/7/2017 by counselors from Jeevan Aastha Team with students of MRIAS. Students thoroughly enjoyed as they were totally relating to situations which were described by the counselors.
Mental health awareness is a hardly talked subject among people and it can have serious effects on individual minds if not taken care of. In current times it is important to have a gateway where one can blow his concerns out by sharing them with someone who understands them in the best possible manner. Jeevan Aastha provides such platform to people.
